OUR MISSION

Our mission is very clear: The Harriet L. Dickson Kruising for Kids event is dedicated to offer support, treatment and hope to children who suffer from kidney disease.

Harriet L. Dickson was a woman who was diagnosed with kidney failure over 20 years ago. She received a kidney transplant and in 2008 when that transplant failed she endured dialysis sessions to keep her alive. Harriet L. Dickson always had a positive attitude through this grueling experience until she passed away from this disease in November 2008. Harriet loved children and dedicated her life to live for her children. It is now in her name we strive to make a difference in children who suffer from kidney disease.



Our special commitment and promise is to bring as much relief as possible to the younger age groups that are so inherently defenseless in their response to such afflictions. Kidney Kamp for kids is one such avenue to afford children the opportunity to meet other children with the same disease and challenges. By working with programs such as Kidney Kamp for Kids we hope to elevate patients' hopes, dreams and spirits that indeed life is not something to be dreaded and filled with pain, but is something exciting and rewarding to look forward to where the future is bright. This is accomplished through a faceted approach that covers a spectrum of working with synergistic organizations such as the National Kidney Foundation on the macro level to working with individual patients on the micro level.
